Inquiry into the City of Perth seeks submissions
The Minister for Local Government, the Hon. David Templeman MLA, following his suspension of the Perth City Council, announced the appointment of highly experienced Barrister Anthony (Tony) Power to conduct the formal Inquiry into the City of Perth.
Mr Power has broad experience and has worked in many areas of the law in almost all Courts and Tribunals, the Corruption and Crime Commission and Royal Commissions. He has been an acting Judge of the District Court and is an adjunct Professor at the University of Notre Dame Australia and Murdoch University.
The Inquiry will consider if there was a failure to provide good government for the City of Perth community, the prospect of providing future good government and any necessary action to ensure ongoing good government.
Following the Inquiry a report with recommendations will be prepared for consideration by the Minister for Local Government.
