The
State Government has secured three Bulldogs home games at Perth's
premier rectangular venue for the 2020-22 NRL premiership seasons.
The
Bulldogs are one of the most successful clubs in NRL history, having
won eight premierships and commanding an estimated fan base of 355,000.
HBF Park has a history of hosting successful NRL matches, with the 2014
Sydney Rabbitohs — New Zealand Warriors match breaking the venue's
attendance record for a sporting match.
The Bulldogs last
played high-attendance matches in Perth in 2013 at HBF Park, and Optus
Stadium in 2018, as part of an opening round double header.
Last month's State of Origin II match brought 15,000 out-of-state visitors to Western Australia, providing significant benefits to Perth's tourism, hospitality and small business sectors.
