Cash grants help local sporting clubs kick health goals
Applications open today for the State Government's Healthy Sporting Club Program with $300,000 up for grabs to help sporting clubs across the State provide healthier food and drinks.

The Healthy Sporting Club Program consists of a winter and summer funding round, which provides up to $4000 to local clubs. The funds can be used to purchase canteen equipment and train canteen managers on how to provide healthier food and drink options.
In 2019 the program run by Healthway provided $305,826 funding to 86 local sport clubs across the State to help increase healthy options at club-run canteens or kiosks.
The Winter Healthy Sporting Club Program saw $184,333 shared amongst 51 sporting clubs across Western Australia, and the Summer Healthy Sporting Club Program saw $121,493 shared amongst 35 clubs across WA.
Applications for the 2020 Winter Healthy Sporting Club program open today and close at 12 noon, Friday 13 March.
