Go-karts hit the track at Optus Stadium
Perth will be able to experience high-octane go-kart racing at Optus Stadium from this Friday 11 December until the end of February on a unique 730-metre purpose-built track constructed at Stadium Park.
- 730 metre pop-up, purpose-built go-kart track has been constructed in the grounds of Optus Stadium.
- Stadium Park Karts season to run through summer, from Friday 11 December until the end of February.
- Daniel Ricciardo-designed Italian-made go-karts reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h.
Stadium Park Karts, a joint venture between Optus Stadium and The Kart Centre, will enable people to race against up to 19 friends in Italian designed Ricciardo Karts, capable of hitting speeds of 60 km/h .
Operated by The Kart Centre, the pop-up go-kart venture will run seven days a week for a season of up to 12 weeks, using karts specially imported from Italy.
Perth-born Formula 1 legend Daniel Ricciardo has not only given his name to the karts but was involved in their design, production and development.
The circuit incorporates the Stadium Park East Precinct area near the Perth Stadium train station, stretching around gardens and under overpasses, and also includes a 150m straight track allowing drivers to reach high speeds.
Racing is suitable for all ages and abilities, with anyone with a height of 140 centimetres or over having the opportunity to take to the track.
