Funding initiative supports local infrastructure upgrades

A number of successful infrastructure developments and upgrades have been achieved in the Peel and South West regions recently thanks to the department’s major funding program — the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).
The CSRFF provides financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation.
The Shire of Boddington completed the new Hotham Park development which features a Nature Park playground, skate park and pump track and basketball half court — all of which links the magnificent Hotham Lake with the town centre. A lovely addition to
the active space is a large mosaic mural that was designed and made by the local community.
A key focus of CSRFF in recent years has been the provision of suitable change-rooms to cater for all genders. With the growth in female football, many existing change-rooms were not designed for unisex use.
The State Government has been supportive to local government and local clubs in upgrading existing facilities and providing purpose-built change-rooms specifically for female use. Imperials Football Club in the Shire of Manjimup were successful in sourcing CSRFF funding to support the construction of a new change room facility which will now be suitable for unisex use.
