Minister's webinar
About 100 delegates from the local government sector took part in a webinar held by Local Government Minister John Carey earlier this month.
The Minister was joined by DLGSC Director General Lanie Chopping and Executive Director Local Government Tim Fraser for the hour-long session.
The Minister spoke on his vision for WA’s local government sector, with a focus on reducing red tape; greater transparency, accountability and simplicity; clearer roles and responsibilities; stronger financial reporting and accountability; earlier intervention, streamlined resolution and stronger penalties.
Minister Carey also took questions from delegates.
