DLGSC on the road
The 16 October local government ordinary elections are just seven weeks away, so the DLGSC local government team has been out delivering information sessions to local people interested in standing for council.
Julie Craig and Issy Rule were out at the City of Cockburn on 25 August, talking on the topics of what to expect when you’re elected, and the values required of an elected member.
Earlier in the week, Jodie Holbrook delivered a session at Rockingham, while Shannon Wood and Marina Sucur paid a visit to the City of Belmont.
They were joined by representatives from WALGA and the WA Electoral Commission (WAEC). More information sessions will take place, co-hosted by WAEC.
Earlier this month, DLGSC with the Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) held a session for members of culturally and linguistically diverse communities. For more information, contact OMI.
Nominations for the October elections open on 2 September and close on 9 September.
