Industrial relations reform for local governments
The Industrial Relations Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 was passed by the WA Parliament on 16 December 2021.
The Department of Mines, Industrial Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) will now progress drafting of regulations to give effect to the changes.
This will include regulations to declare every WA local government “not to be a national system employer” for the purposes of the Fair Work Act 2009.
