State sporting associations (SSAs) will have access to a new program that provides more pathways for coaches and officials to pursue development opportunities, thanks to the State Government.

The $400,000 investment over two years will be administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries through the Coaching and Officiating Grants Program.

SSAs can apply for funding of up to $15,000 per round to develop initiatives that provide sustainable and inclusive support to coach and official development.

Programs that promote and encourage diversity or inclusion among the SSAs' coaches and officials will be given priority.

Funding can be used for the recruitment, training and education of new and existing coaches and officials, coaching workshops, accreditation for talent identified, and high-performance coaches and officials, including those involved in Paralympic sport.

Applications are open from Monday March 14, 2022 to Friday 1 April 2022.
