Screen Industry Strategy to provide 10-year vision for development of WA Screen sector
The development of a WA Screen Industry Strategy is getting underway to ensure Western Australia is best placed to grow and develop the film and screen sector over the coming decade.
Sector consultation starts on Wednesday 11 May when the Culture and Arts Minister David Templeman hosts a roundtable in collaboration with Western Australia’s screen industry development organisation Screenwest.
ACIL Allen Consulting has been appointed to facilitate development of the strategy, which will build on extensive industry consultation undertaken in recent years. Industry engagement will include an opportunity for targeted one-on-one engagement. There will also be the opportunity for feedback on the draft strategy.
The creative industries create local jobs and add to the vibrancy of our communities, while showcasing our great State to national and international audiences.
The development of the Screen Industry Strategy builds on the potential of the screen industry as part of the broader creative industries, identified as a key area under the State Government’s economic diversification strategy for the Western Australian economy.
The strategy will be developed in collaboration with Screenwest, to build a solid foundation for screen sector growth into the future.
