State Government appoints 2 new Gaming and Wagering Commission members
Racing and Gaming Minister Dr Tony Buti has appointed 2 new members to the Gaming and Wagering Commission (GWC), bringing the total number of appointees this year to 4.
Helen Creed and Samuel Buckeridge bring extensive board, regulatory, and management experience to the State’s gambling regulator.
Ms Creed has held a variety of executive and board roles in government and not-for-profit sectors.
Mr Buckeridge is an experienced company director and has held numerous management roles across BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd.
Their appointment reaffirms the State Government’s commitment to strengthening the regulatory framework governing Western Australia’s casino, a priority in its response to the Perth Casino Royal Commission.
Legislation that will give the GWC the necessary powers to enact reforms and restore integrity at the State’s casino was also introduced into Parliament on 22 June 2022.
The State Government thanks outgoing member Steve Dobson for his contribution to the GWC.
