MyCouncil website
The MyCouncil website is a place for residents, ratepayers and the local government sector to view and compare information on how local governments are raising, spending and managing funds.
Additional information such as rate growth, payments received by elected members, and the percentage of female councillors is also available.
The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has now made financial data for 2020-21 available.
Since its launch in 2016, the website has increased interest within the sector in local government performance, for example, through the financial ratios used to calculate a local government’s Financial Health Indicator (FHI).
The website uses local government annual financial reports and Australian Bureau of Statistics information to chart the growth experienced in the sector.
