Western Australia continues to be a global hub of blockbuster sport, with Perth set to host further NRL State of Origin series games in 2025 and 2028.

State of Origin is one of Australia's biggest sporting events and will deliver thousands of visitors to WA while injecting millions into the local economy.

Previous State of Origin games at Optus Stadium have seen the venue packed out with crowds of around 60,000 and nearly 3 million tuning into watch the Blues versus Maroons.

It is estimated that a significant number of people will travel for the matches, with a combined total of nearly 20,000 out-of-state visitors coming to WA for the 2019 and 2022 State of Origin games.

The date for the matches and further details surrounding which games will be held in Perth are to be announced at a later stage.

The new State of Origin deal follows on from last night's hugely successful NRL Double Header at Optus Stadium.

Around 45,000 NRL fans packed into the stadium to watch the Dolphins take on the Knights before the Rabbitohs faced-off with the Sharks in the Double Header on August 5.
