Stop Puppy Farming — consultation closing soon
Local governments, community members, animal rehoming services, vet practices and other stakeholders are encouraged to have their say on proposed new Dog and Cat Regulations before public consultation closes on 5pm 20 November 2023.
Your responses on the consultation paper will help inform the next stage of reforms to end puppy farming in WA. The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is seeking feedback on seven key topics:
- sterilisation of dogs
- pet shop approval
- dog supply approval
- approval to breed
- microchipping
- dog and cat registrations
- miscellaneous (including access to and information to be recorded in the centralised registration system, investigation and enforcement, upskilling for local government staff, and advertising dogs for sale).
Providing your feedback
Online surveys have been created for each survey topic.
You don’t need to respond to all topics to submit your feedback.
