Good sideline behaviour the latest focus for True Sport
SportWest releases latest package of resources aimed at promoting a positive culture, respect and fair play from the sidelines.
SportWest, the peak industry body for sport in Western Australia, has relaunched its True Sport Sideline Behaviour initiative ahead of the winter sporting season.
True Sport, delivered by SportWest with support from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC), focuses on the values and culture within sport being driven by the industry, for the industry.
DLGSC Executive Director of Sport and Recreation Marcelyn Nicolaou congratulated SportWest on its latest release, which will help ensure a positive and supportive atmosphere on the sidelines for players, umpires, coaches, and volunteers.
“DLGSC proudly supports the True Sport program – it’s a highly valuable initiative designed by industry to enrich the sport experience in WA.
“Over the past two years the State Government, through DLGSC, has provided more than $1.2 million in funding, which has supported the development and delivery of these wonderful assets that will benefit our many sporting groups and volunteers,” Marcelyn said.
