Standardised meeting procedures consultation period extended
Feedback to inform new standardised local government meeting procedures will now close on Friday 7 June 2024.
Local governments, council members, local government employees and community members now have until Friday 7 June to respond to a Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) consultation on new rules to standardise meetings in local government.
The DLGSC released a consultation paper in February, seeking feedback to help develop new regulations that will replace individual council procedures, standing orders and local laws with consistent rules for all local governments in WA.
The extension is to allow key stakeholders more time to prepare a considered response to the proposed changes.
