The Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Grants Program, administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, provides funding support for projects that create inclusive, accessible, safe and welcoming environments for low participation groups.

In the latest round, 8 projects will share in more than $2.2 million in funding over 3 years, across a range of activities, that cater for people with disability, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people from the LGBTQIA+ community, disengaged youth and more.

Funded projects include a basketball program that engages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, a baseball initiative specifically aimed at people with disability, and a rowing program targeted at seniors, individuals of all abilities and adolescent girls.

Other funding recipients who met the criteria cater for sports including lawn bowls, volleyball, athletics, swimming and surfing.

Organisations were eligible for up to $150,000 per annum to support their projects.
