Construction to begin on Dalyellup community and youth centre
Work will soon begin on the Dalyellup multipurpose community and youth centre project in what will become a valuable local asset made possible by a $9 million investment by the WA Government.
This funding includes a Lotterywest grant of $1.9 million and a $2.9 million contribution from the Shire of Capel.
The project features:
- a multifunctional library and technology hub
- a youth space including a digital hub space and media facilities
- small performance spaces
- activity and business start-up rooms
- a senior citizens club space.
The community and youth centre will provide significant social and economic benefits to residents, as well as supporting the regional economy by creating about 25 full-time construction jobs.
The $13.86 million project, due for completion in December 2026, forms the second stage of a wider Dalyellup District Centre development that includes other community facilities such as a skate park.
