This inaugural event in the Pilbara will deliver education, training and professional development to the Western Australian sport and recreation sector.
Delivered across 2 days, participants will have the opportunity to network with others from the industry with a focus on creating connected communities.
The event will feature several streams which aim to discuss and address the current industry trends and issues facing sport and recreation communities across the Pilbara region. Some of the key focus areas will include: safety in sport, inclusion and diversity, mental health, local infrastructure and coaching.
Participants will hear from an amazing group of industry professionals, experts, community leaders and high-profile sporting personalities including key note speakers Brad Scott — a dual international athlete, three-time Paralympian, triple Paralympic Games medallist and a member of the Australian Para Soccer Team and Fleur McIntyre current Assistant Coach for the recent championship winning Sydney Kings in the Men’s NBL (National Basketball League).

A Western Australian Basketball trailblazer, Fleur is the current Assistant Coach for the recent championship winning Sydney Kings in the Men’s National Basketball League (NBL).
She is only the fifth female to coach in the NBL, and the first female to win an NBL championship. Before moving to the Sydney Kings, Fleur spent 15 years at the University of Notre Dame as an Associate Professor, lecturer and researcher in Exercise and Sport Science, and has played a valuable and important role in the development of Western Australian Basketball for over 20 years across a diverse range of roles including;

Brad is a dual international athlete, three-time Paralympian, triple Paralympic Games medallist and a member of the Australian Para Soccer Team, the Pararoos. Brad will share his journey, along with his experience and commitment to working in the disability sector to provide opportunities for everyone to participate in community sport.
The Social Inclusion forum will also provide attendees with best practice ideas and examples from people passionate about creating social change and social inclusion.
Through the power of sharing stories and our ability to connect and bring together, a range of sport and recreation industry professionals and experts, peak and state body representatives, funding partners, local governments, community clubs and their administrators, coaches, athletes and volunteers we anticipate that this forum will become the highlight of the sport and recreation industry calendar here in the North West for many years to come.
