Intro

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) invite you to attend a 3-day Managing Integrity in Sport course.

The course is an opportunity for SIA to listen, learn and understand an organisation’s operating models, integrity threats and issues and to discuss how SIA may be able to assist with protecting against integrity threats.

Schedule:

Day 1: Anti-Doping and Competition Manipulation

Day 2: Safeguarding, Mental Health, and Wellbeing
9.00am to 3.30pm Thursday 1 August 2024 

Day 3: Managing Complaints and Disputes
9.00am to 3.00pm Friday 2 August 2024

Content will include:

  • Raise awareness and understanding of integrity threats and to upskill participants in sport and recreation integrity management as it relates to the National Integrity Framework (NIF).
  • Member protection, child safeguarding, improper use of drugs and medications, competition manipulation and sports wagering, anti-doping and complaints management.
  • Helping to build a community of advocates passionate about protecting the safety of all members in sport and recreation.
  • The what, the why and the how behind integrity policies.
  • Understand the types of problems and issues we are trying to address, what is at stake and why it is important to strengthen all our integrity policies and protect people in sport and recreation.
  • How to manage real-life complaint scenarios, including briefing CEOs and boards on integrity issues, and how to embed education within the sport or recreational organisation.
  • Importance of mental health support and the nexus between sport integrity and mental health, including the long-term impact of failing to create and maintain safe environments for children.
