In addition to our major capital works, we play a vital role in managing funding programs that help develop infrastructure for sport and recreation across Western Australia. These programs are designed to boost participation in sport and recreation, with a focus on increasing physical activity by creating high-quality, sustainable and well-utilised facilities.
Key initiatives include the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and the Club Night Lights Program (CNLP), through which the WA Government invests annually in developing physical environments where communities can engage in sport and recreation. This includes funding for projects such as sports floodlighting infrastructure, ensuring local clubs and communities have access to well-lit, safe spaces for training, competition and events.
These funding programs provide essential financial assistance to community groups and local governments, helping them create and upgrade facilities that promote active lifestyles and build stronger communities.

With over $2 billion worth in assets, we are dedicated to maintaining and preserving some of our state’s most cherished cultural institutions. We play a vital role in ensuring these spaces remain safe, functional, and welcoming for generations to come.
We manage the upkeep of key venues such as the Art Gallery of WA, the State Theatre Centre, the State Library of WA, The Blue Room Theatre, Subiaco Arts Centre, King Streets Arts Centre, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), the Albany Entertainment Centre, Sunset Heritage Precinct, including the 6 museums spread throughout our state. This extensive portfolio requires a proactive approach to maintenance, which is where our centralised maintenance program comes in.
Our program includes preventative maintenance, statutory compliance, and a minor works program, all designed to ensure public safety and protect valuable cultural collections. By focusing on early intervention and careful planning, we maintain these treasured spaces so that they continue to inspire, educate and entertain Western Australians.
