Intro

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) is pleased to announce the delivery of the Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) Training, Part 2.

Following the establishment of Sport Integrity Australia an extensive review of the Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) program was undertaken resulting in updated course material to better support the role of a MPIO.

 MPIO training content:

  • Identify your sport’s child safeguarding and member protection policies and relevant.
  • Complaint handling contacts.
  • Explain the responsibilities of a Member Protection Information Officer in a sporting
  • organisation.
  • Utilise skills in listening, decision making and trauma-informed practice.
  • Identify if a matter raised is a potential breach of your organisation’s policy.
  • Advise on options available to participants who have witnessed or experienced a potential
  • breach of prohibited conduct.
  • Advise on activities clubs can take to promote safe, fair and inclusive sport.

MPIO Part 2 online workshop

Priority will be given to people registering from regional WA

Capacity: 30 people

MPIO Part 1 training

This is an online module, a certificate of completion is required before commencement of Part 2 training.
