From 11 January 2017 the following changes take effect:
- A
new category of special facility licence allows for the online sale of
WA produced wine. Further information is available in the Director’s Special Facility Licence – Online Wine Sales policy.
- The existing exemption for Producers to sell
their liquor at farmers’ markets has been expanded. The exemption now
applies to farmers’ markets held anywhere in WA, a maximum of 9 litres
per customer can be sold and the stall can be operated by individual
producers (not just associations).
- The sale of liquor on a cruise ship during the
course of an intra-State voyage is exempt from the Act where the
following conditions are met:
- the cruise ship must be a vessel that is suitable for deep
water cruising and have a minimum capacity of 100 passenger berths; and
- the cruise must be a scheduled deep water voyage that continues over at least one night; and
- liquor can only be supplied to fare paying passengers or crew members who are over the age of 18 years and are not drunk.
- Changes to the information
required to be kept in the incident register means that there will be no
need to complete a second entry in the incident register required for
crowd controllers under the Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996. Further information is available in the Director’s Incident Register at Licensed Premises policy.
- From 1 July 2018 crowd controllers employed on
licensed premises will need to successfully complete responsible service
of alcohol training.
