The second series of the Women in Leadership programs held in Leederville have just concluded. In total 42 women were selected to participate in these programs and represented 38 different sporting organisations.
The Foundations of Governance workshops were presented by Lianne Cretney-Barnes through the Australian Institute of Management (AIM). This workshops series provided participants with a valuable insight into key governance concepts presented within a framework of the unique challenges faced by women taking on board roles.
The What Women Can Do workshop series provided participants with a unique learning environment for women who aspire to positions of leadership and influence. Feedback from this program was extremely positive with participants enjoying the practical learnings and opportunity to engage with and learn from other women within the industry.
The ten women involved in the unique learning opportunity through Coaching Circles created networking opportunities and explored a range of different topics, issues and themes as they relate to their roles as women in leadership.
As there was such an overwhelming response to these programs, they will be conducted again in 2021 — stay tuned!
A leadership development workshop led by Dr. Lianne Cretney-Barnes of Board Connexions was recently held for women from the Great Southern region.
The program explored personal and team leadership styles and qualities, board structures, risk management and the roles and responsibilities of board members.
The group will continue to meet in 2021 with other women as they continue to develop their leadership skills and abilities, with key local businesswomen speaking to the group providing knowledge of their board journeys as well as potential mentoring opportunities.
