The ARC grants aim to increase opportunities for the regions to participate in sporting and active recreational activities. The program is tailored to meet the ever-changing demands and challenges of sport and active recreation groups within the nine diverse regions of Western Australia.

The floorball project was aimed at introducing new players to the game and then transitioning participants into regular involvement in hockey in the Peel region.

The project also provided opportunities to upskill some hockey volunteers to deliver basic coach and umpire training for this and future programs.

Coastal Rowing WA Inc — based in Bunbury — were successful in gaining funding to provide education and accreditation to local coaches in the maritime aspects of coastal rowing. Upskilling local flat-water rowing coaches in the growing sport supported the club to attract new members and expand participation.

Applications to the ARC grant program are open year-round. If your sporting club or recreational organisation would like to discuss a potential project with us, please feel free to contact the Peel or the South West office.
