Lanie brings with her a wealth of experience in regulatory and citizen-focused roles across WA’s public sector.
Her most recent role was as Commissioner for Consumer Protection in Western Australia and Acting Executive Director, Consumer Protection at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
Lanie previously held senior positions at the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Economic Regulation Authority, and the West Australian Council of Social Services.
Lanie’s appointment follows the Premier’s announcement earlier this month, regarding a range of changes across the public sector.
Lanie said she was excited about the move to the department, and the new opportunities it presented.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the team at DLGSC in my new role as interim Director General,” she said.
“This department has such a diverse portfolio, with so many different programs and initiatives.
“I’m ready to hit the ground running to help the team achieve the department’s objectives in each of the various service areas.”
