The infrastructure developments and upgrades continue in the Peel and South West regions thanks to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ major funding program — the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF).

The CSRFF scheme enables grassroots clubs and local governments to build quality local sporting infrastructure to help WA communities stay connected and mentally and physically healthy.

Busselton Hockey Association were able to upgrade their lighting to the latest LED sports lighting technology thanks to a grant from the CSRFF, giving the club the best playing conditions in any light.

The recent introduction of a new funding scheme specifically for sports lighting — the Club Night Lights Program — provides an opportunity for community groups and local governments to upgrade their lighting infrastructure to LED technology.

This new technology is more cost effective and emits a bright white light which transforms poor light — even total darkness — into daylight. LED lighting also minimises light spill beyond the boundaries.
