These include three initiatives in the Mid-West, two in the Pilbara and Kimberley, one in the Great Southern and one project that spans the Goldfields-Esperance, Great Southern and South West regions.

Funded projects include:

• Breaksea Incorporated — $80,000 for Seachange Program Phase One in Albany. A first-phase creative development, workshop series, performance and exhibition program, Breaksea is partnering with community participants and five local organisations in the Great Southern, inspired by the concept of change.
• Broome CIRCLE Inc — $80,000 for the Artists Away from Home Program in the Kimberley. Working with Australian First Nations artists who have active agreements with Remote Community Art Centres, Broome CIRCLE Inc is supporting them to continue their artistic development away from home, in encouraging creative excellence, social and emotional wellbeing outcomes.

The Community Participation and Inclusion Program offers up to $80,000 to projects that facilitate arts and cultural activity participation for people from diverse backgrounds. Projects encourage creative expression and provide opportunities for marginalised communities to strengthen and present their art and culture.

Launched by the State Government in 2019, the RACIP acknowledges the importance of culture and arts programs in regional and remote Western Australia. It continues to focus on delivering social inclusion, accessibility and employment opportunities in regional WA — receiving an additional $5 million in the 2021 State Budget to extend the program.

The RACIP is delivered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC), with funding from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development. Since 2019 the RACIP has injected almost $13 million into arts and culture in regional and remote WA.
