This year, the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has been working with Aboriginal led businesses to design and print more than 400 banners to display across the state.
More organisations than ever before have shown their support for reconciliation by sponsoring a street banner to display.
The banners feature artwork Karlamilyi — My Mother’s Country by Narlene Waddaman, a Nyangumarta woman who lives and works in Kariyarra Country, South Hedland.
National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
