Premier and Rockingham MLA Mark McGowan was joined by the City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin and Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby to officially open the Baldivis District Sporting Complex.

The State Government's total contribution to the project is $12.5 million in addition to funding provided by the City of Rockingham ($26.3 million) and Cricket Australia ($100,000).

The complex will meet a shortage of active reserve space in the City of Rockingham for sporting groups, providing change rooms, a main pavilion, 8 hectares of playing space floodlighting, 3 separate car parks, as well as an indoor recreation centre.

The main pavilion is home to the White Knights Baldivis Cricket Club and the Baldivis Brumbies Football Club.

Further planning for additional stages will deliver another pavilion, 18 outdoor hardcourts, a nature playground and youth space at the complex.
