Licensing tips for a smooth end-of-season wind up

Most summer seasonal club trading ceases on 31 March, so make sure you're aware of your club's specific trading days and hours. 

If you need to vary any licence conditions or extend licensed trading days, remember that applications must be lodged at least 14 days before the function. Don't forget to check with your local council and other tenants for necessary approvals.

It’s important all functions and events hosted by your club are conducted responsibly by following the harm minimisation principles for the service of liquor.

Make sure that you review your club’s harm minimisation policy and that all your staff are RSA trained so they understand their obligations for the responsible service of alcohol.

Follow good harm minimisation principles, which include providing food, free water, low-alcoholic alternatives, and soft drinks. Don’t let your members, friends, and players drink and drive. Encourage the use of designated drivers and ride-sharing services.

Lastly, don’t make drinking the sole purpose of your wind-up. Celebrate your club’s year and your achievements in a balanced and enjoyable manner.
