The School Camps Discount Program is available to eligible WA public schools during Semester 1, 2025. The program provides discounts for overnight camp bookings held at Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries camps during Term 1 and Term 2, 2025.   

Eligibility is determined by the school's Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) rating which must be between zero and 60 percentiles according to the ACARA 2024 assessment.   


Additionally, discounts are available for bookings at DoE operated camps in Broome, Point Peron, Kalgoorlie, Pemberton, Dampier, and Geraldton. These must be booked directly through the respective camp operators. 

Understanding the school camp discount amount

The following information will help you determine eligibility and access discounts for school camps. 

The discount amount is based on the: 

  • number of students attending 
  • number of nights booked 
  • eligible activities included.

You can request an estimated discount to be applied to your quote to get an indicative cost for your camp. The final discount will be applied to your tax invoice based on the actual number of camp attendees.  

A deposit is required to secure the booking as part of the contract terms. The discount does not apply to catering services. 

If the total camp cost after the discount is applied exceeds the deposit, your school pays the difference. 

If the deposit is greater than the final camp cost, after the discount, your school receives a refund

How to receive the discount

Eligible schools who have already made a camp booking automatically qualify for the discount.   

If your school hasn’t booked yet, follow these steps: 
  1. Check eligibility: Ensure your school meets the program’s eligibility requirements. 
  2. Make a booking:  Contact DLGSC Camp Bookings at campinfo@dlgsc.wa.gov.au. We have a list of eligible schools and will apply the discount when you enquire. 
  3. Pay the deposit: A minimum deposit is required to secure your booking. 
  4. Sign and return: Complete the campsite's booking conditions form before your camp. 
You can use the discount for multiple bookings within the discount period, subject to availability of the camp site.
