The Active Regional Communities (ARC) Grants program aims to increase the opportunities for regional people to participate in sport and active recreation activities in regional Western Australia and is tailored to meet the ever-changing demands and challenges of sport and active recreation groups within the nine diverse regions of the State.

Funding for projects that support participation in, access to and creation of arts and culture in regional Western Australia.

For arts and cultural projects in regional WA that align with the following objectives:

Increase access to and/or participation in arts and culture in regional Western Australia.
Provide employment opportunities, skills development or/and career pathways for regional Western Australian artists and arts workers.
Encourage development of regional creative and cultural industries including cultural tourism.
Support community led activities and creative developments.
Contribute to social inclusion, wellbeing, cohesion and vibrancy in regional WA communities.

Club Night Lights Program

Providing financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure.

The Club Night Lights Program exemplifies the State Government’s commitment to the development of sustainable floodlighting infrastructure for sport across the State.

The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure. The program aims to maintain or increase participation in sport and recreation with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.

Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund

The Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) exemplifies the Western Australian Government's commitment to the development of sustainable infrastructure for sport and recreation across the State.

The purpose of the program is to provide Western Australian Government financial assistance to community groups and local government authorities to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation.

The program aims to increase participation in sport and recreation, with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of sustainable, good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.

Through CSRFF, the State Government will invest annually in the development of high-quality physical environments in which people can enjoy sport and recreation.

There is $20 million available for allocation in the 2025/2026 funding round.

North West Travel Subsidy

North West Travel Subsidy aims to assist young athletes from the North West with travel costs.

The North West Travel Subsidy (NWTS) aims to encourage participation in identified sport and active recreation activities for athletes living in the regions of the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne and other remote locations within the Mid West and Goldfields regions.

Regional Aboriginal Arts Development

Funding for projects that support the development of Aboriginal artists and the Aboriginal arts and cultural sector in regional Western Australia.

For Aboriginal arts and cultural projects in regional and remote WA that align with one or more of the following objectives:

support the development of significant and large-scale works created and produced by Aboriginal artists in regional Western Australia
showcase the unique stories of Western Australia’s First Nations peoples and engage new and diverse audiences
support regional Aboriginal arts and cultural organisations to develop strategic, business, succession, sustainability, and/or governance plans
support audience development and economic diversification by strengthening Aboriginal arts and cultural organisations and industry
support long-term skills development goals for Aboriginal arts workers, artists and communities
enable employment opportunities and improve economic growth for regional Aboriginal artists, arts workers and communities.

Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme

The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme provides funding assistance to regional Western Australian athletes who aspire to reach their full sporting potential.

The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme (ATSS) is an initiative supporting regional athletes who have progressed into the high performance pathway of their chosen sport and are pursuing regional, state and national representation.

Eligible regional athletes can receive funding for out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses directly related to competitions and programs in accordance with the performance level categories and eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines.

Subsidies for regional athletes are provided through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions Program.

Community Place Based Grants Program

Co-designed, place based structured holiday and out-of-school activity programs.

DLGSC has developed the Community Place Based Grants Program to support community-led initiatives that address local priorities for vulnerable children and young people who require extra support to achieve positive life outcomes through sport and recreation activities.

The Community Place Based Grants Program provides financial support to organisations to develop and deliver co-designed, place based structured sport and recreation out-of-school activity programs in identified regional locations in Western Australia.

The program includes a process to work collaboratively with local government, Aboriginal leaders and community service organisations to incorporate sport and recreation in community-led activities and events that target vulnerable children and young people and their families.

DLGSC is seeking applications from organisations in targeted regional and remote locations in Western Australia for one to 3—year projects that will achieve the program’s outcome and objectives.

DLGSC encourages organisations to consider applying for Community Place Based initiatives that support and broaden diversity and inclusion.

Engage new audiences and contribute to the liveability and vibrancy of regional communities by enabling local communities to make decisions about their performing arts needs.

Funding to support the expansion of annual programs delivered by arts venues in regional Western Australia over a 3-year period.

The primary objective of the Regional Arts Venues Support program is to support the development of regional arts venues by enhancing their reach and engagement.

Boost employment and tourism opportunities in regional Western Australia
