The subsidy will provide additional financial assistance to children from low-income families to undertake training and development as youth officials and coaches across several different sports, and to reduce the cost of:
- completed introductory officiating and coaching accreditation course fees
- costs associated with registration fees to fulfil the role of an official (umpire) or coach.
Eligible children may access this subsidy in addition to the existing KidSport voucher program.
Is my child eligible?
To be eligible for the KidSport Coaching and Officiating Subsidy your child must be:
- aged 12 to 18 years inclusive at the time of application*
- residing in Western Australia.
They must also be:
- named on a parent or guardian’s valid Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with the child’s unique Customer Reference Number (CRN) visible; or
- named on their own valid Services Australia Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with their own unique Customer Reference Number (CRN) listed on the card.
*Please check with your participating State sporting association to see if your child meets the accreditation and membership criteria (including minimum age) for coaching and officiating.
How to apply
Eligible children will need to apply directly through their participating State sporting association. Applications for the subsidy cannot be submitted through an online application form.
