Intro

In support of Children's Week WA 2024, SportWest invites you to join us in supporting the week and its purpose by tuning into our upcoming Webinar focused on eSafety in Sport.

Co-facilitated by SportWest and the eSafety Commissioner, and proudly supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, this session will provide a practical education session, delving into online safety risks such as assistance with removing harmful content (eg. cyberbullying of children, sharing of images or videos without consent and reporting online harm). The webinar will also cover utilising the True Sport and eSafety resources to promote a safer online environment and minimise the chances for children and young people to be harmed.

In alignment with the 10 National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, this webinar aligns primarily with the True Sport Child Safeguarding National Principle 8 resource — Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.

Content:

  • eSafety's role, work and sports hub resources
  • Managing and reporting online harm (including cyberbullying and image-based abuse involving children)
  • eSafety Sport resources for sport organisations
  • Online safety examples for sports administrators
  • WA tailored information for sports and implementation assistance.
