Expressions of interest are now open for the Supporting Coaches in Practice workshop

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) in partnership with the Department of Local Government, Sport and  Cultural Industries (DLGSC) invite you to express your interest in the free ASC Supporting Coaches in Practice training.

  • Development opportunity including eLearning course (90 minutes) and face to face workshop (1 day).
  • Learn how to support the development of coaches through on-the-job mentoring.
  • Leverage coach-centred action planning to support higher levels of intrinsic motivation and accountability.

Workshop overview

In the 1-day workshop, participants will:

  • identify and practice the skills required for effective on-thejob  coach mentoring, including building rapport,  pre-session briefing, objective observation and feedback  conversations
  • encourage coach-centred reflection and action planning  to help coaches monitor their progress and reset goals as  necessary.

Target

This development opportunity is relevant to:

  • existing mentors or coach developers
  • experienced coaches wishing to start mentoring others
  • State Sport Association club development officers
  • State Sport Association Training Managers invited to  attend in either an active or observer role.

Due to the highly practical nature of the session, the face-to-face workshop will not have a virtual attendance option.
