The Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Grants Program is set to distribute $1.5 million over 3 years. The aim is to create inclusive, accessible, safe, and welcoming environments and opportunities for people with disability, Aboriginal people, those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, adolescent girls, people from the LGBTQIA+ community, seniors and disengaged youth.

This may include, but is not limited to, collaborative projects that:

  • help people with disability take part in activities previously not accessible or offered to them
  • are 'place-based' where applicants work with local and specialist partners to connect and coordinate opportunities for people from CALD backgrounds
  • make sport or active recreation activities fun and flexible for disengaged youth
  • build capacity of sport and recreation organisations to be more inclusive of all.

Local sport and active recreation providers, State sporting associations, community service providers and local governments are encouraged to apply for funding under the Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Grants Program, which is administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

Applications open Monday 13 February 2023 and close Monday 13 March 2023.
