LG Alert

Anzac Day is a day of special significance to all Australians, particularly for our serving military personnel and returned veterans.

In accordance with Australian flag protocol, the Australian National Flag should be flown at half-mast on Thursday, 25 April 2024 from dawn until noon in your locality, at which time the flag should be raised to the peak of the flag mast for the remainder of the day.

It is not appropriate to move the flag to the half-mast position the previous evening.

Also in accordance with protocol, all flags and ensigns at each flag station should be flown at half-mast.

If further information is required, please contact Protocol and State Events on 6552 6333 or visit the Australian National Flag protocols page.

For those interested in holding an Anzac Day commemorative service, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs has information available on its website.
