Intro
This means that liquor stores in the non-metropolitan area will be able to sell alcohol from 10am to 10pm on the following Sundays without applying for a permit to do so:
Licensees who are currently subject to liquor restrictions are excluded from the notice and will still need to apply for extended trading permits which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The trading hours for hotels and liquor stores within the metropolitan area have been extended from 8am to 10am on 15, 22 and 29 December 2024.
For the first time the DLL has also issued extended trading permits for hotels, hotel restricted, tavern, tavern restricted, and small bar licences to extend their trading hours between 6am and 10am on Mother’s Day (12 May) and Father’s Day (1 September), without lodging an application.
All alcohol sold between these extended hours must be ancillary to a meal.
