Diversify WA provides an economic blueprint creating secure, quality jobs, growing and diversifying the economy and attracting investment.
The Diversify WA 2024 update report identifies nine priority sectors in which Western Australia has a competitive advantage and where there are significant growth opportunities.
This update represents an important shift for WA’s creative industries which are now recognised as one of nine priority sectors in the WA Government’s economic development framework.
With strong State Government support and a growing pipeline of international interest, there has never been a better time for WA creatives to harness opportunities on the global stage.
WA’s creative industries contribute around $3.3 billion every year to the WA economy and encompasses activities including architecture and design, software and games, performing and visual arts and screen production.
Since the 2021 update WA’s creative industries have celebrated a number of achievements including:
Plans are in development to continue supporting a sustainable sector, creating confidence within the WA creative industries, and signalling to interstate and international stakeholders that WA is open for business.
