Pause for paws — feedback on dog and cat laws in WA.
The Dog Amendment Act 2013 and Cat Act 2011 commenced five years ago. On 12 May 2019, the department released a consultation paper to gather feedback from the community, local governments and stakeholders about how the 2013 changes are working, whether they have been effective, and to identify any areas that could be improved.
Feedback on the cat and dog laws closed on 4 August 2019.
On Wednesday 27 November 2019, Minister for Local Government, Hon David Templeman MLA, tabled the final report in Parliament.
